Privacy Policy for Happy Scan

Happy Scan (“the App”) is developed and operated by Kevin French (“I,” “me,” or “my”). Your privacy is important to me. This Privacy Policy explains how Happy Scan handles information and data.

1. Information I Do Not Collect
I do not collect, store, transmit, share, or process any of the following on my own servers:
Scanned documents
Photos or images
PDF files
Folder names or tag names
File metadata or document contents
Personal identifiers
All document-related data remains under your control at all times.

2. Local Processing Only
All scanning, image processing, and file conversion features in Happy Scan are performed locally on your device. No document content or metadata is transmitted to me or to any third-party servers operated by me.

3. Apple iCloud Storage
Happy Scan uses Apple iCloud to store your documents, folders, and tags.
All files and organizational data are stored exclusively in your personal iCloud account
I do not have access to your Apple ID, iCloud account, or stored files
iCloud usage is governed by Apple’s own Privacy Policy and Terms
You are responsible for managing your iCloud settings, storage capacity, and backups.

4. Analytics and Subscription Services
Happy Scan uses limited third-party services to support app analytics and subscriptions.

4.1 Mixpanel (Analytics)
I use Mixpanel to understand how the App is used, such as:
App launches
Feature usage (e.g., scan, convert, organize)
General interaction patterns
Mixpanel may collect limited information such as:
Device type
Operating system version
App version
Anonymous identifiers
Document contents, file names, images, PDFs, folders, and tags are never collected or analyzed.
Mixpanel data is used solely to improve the App and is not sold.

4.2 RevenueCat (Subscriptions)
I use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions.
RevenueCat may process:
Anonymous user identifiers
Subscription status (active, expired, trial, etc.)
Purchase and renewal events
RevenueCat does not receive access to your documents or iCloud data.

5. Data Linking and Identification
Analytics and subscription data is not linked to your real-world identity
I do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or document contents
Any identifiers used are technical and anonymous in nature

These services operate under their own privacy policies:
Mixpanel
RevenueCat
Apple iCloud
I encourage you to review their policies to understand how they handle data.

7. Tracking
Happy Scan does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies and does not use data for advertising purposes.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective when posted. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
